Back Home to Angers

While I worked Jake got to discover the city a bit and do some souvenir shopping. This fountain is just outside the foyer where I live. Angers is just as beautiful at night as it is during the daytime. We took a day trip to nearby Saumur, where we got private guided visits in English of both the Bouvet Ladubay caves and the Combier distillerie. We took back sparkling wine from the caves and some Combier triple-sec (since they were the ones who originally invented it). Because of the Loire river, the region has some pretty amazing local products. Spending the vacation with Jake was the best Christmas gift ever!

Jumping up to the Kingdom of Denmark

We got to ride the ferry both ways, which was a nice break from sitting on the train. Sigfred, Birgit, and little Quick were just as hospitable as the first time I visited 2 years ago. We got a tour of the farm and the house that has just been completely renovated. We can't wait to hear news about Peter's baby, which is due any day now!

Parsberg

After being in the metropolis of Munich, it was nice to spend a couple days visiting Gail, Hannah, and Naomi in their village just a couple hours north of Munich. Here we are in the closest town, where we got to eat at a really nice German hotel, but we also got to visiting the military post. It was so wierd to be in this little America! They have everything there, and they even take dollars. We had a great time visiting with Gail and the girls, and I'm so glad we got to meet up again...That's the second time in Europe this year!
